Hello from Granada, Spain! :P Coincidentally, this wedding occurred in Alhambra, California, and I visited the Alhambra here in Granada today.

This was a classic wedding: full of spiritual significance, tradition, friends, family and little games and playful moments.

Call it nostalgia, or whatever you like, but I don’t mind posting this in July. :)

This family is all grown up! I took a few pictures of the Kwons when the twins were just a few weeks old. They have since moved up to the Seattle area, so I got to see them again during my road trip.

Self-described: “casual, musical, funny, loving, athletic”

For these next few days I will be posting family lifestyle portrait sessions from my trip to Seattle. I asked families to describe themselves in 5 words or less.

I had this session ready weeks ago, but I didn’t post it … I’m not exactly sure why. I’m really excited to share these images, but I think there is a always a fear that the response to my work will not be on the same level of pride that I have in this set of images. Anyway, caution be damned, I knew I wanted to photograph Cadence and Eli the moment I met them, and I really believe in pursuing those instincts as an artist. I lost a few nights of sleep pre-visualizing all the ideas for them and eventually committed to a fully black and white collection of images. Here are a few pictures from that collaboration.
