Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to photograph Ryan and Livia’s wedding out in Riverside. It was out on a little country club. The weather looked a bit dicey coming in with slight showers along the drive, but the day turned out just slightly chilly, but dry. Ryan and Livia had family and friends pretty much do everything from make-up to the cake. As a result, this wedding had that home-feel to it, where you could feel the importance of the people close to them in making their day meaningful.
Anyway, it’s late, so I’m just going to post pictures now.
Thanks for letting me be part of your day.

Although the game was over pretty early on, I did watch the entire thing to the very end. I’m just one of those people that feels like if you will sit and watch your team blow out another team, you should also stay and watch your team get killed - being a fanatic about your team. Anyway, getting off of my soapbox, I’m still sad from last night’s loss to the F* Gators (again), but I definitely have some thoughts.
- Why does Corey Brewer get no love in the media? They just seem to want to talk about Florida’s bigs, Noah and Horford, and love Humphrey when he makes those 3’s. But what about Brewer? Quick, 6′9″, tremendous length, athletic ability on both ends of the floor - the person who really makes this Gators team win. I think he’s a sleeper in the upcoming draft if he declares, since all the talk will be on Durant/Oden.
- Is there talk about Arron coming back? I mostly think that’s a good thing, but after watching Shipp produce in the first half, and then disappear in the second with Afflalo back makes me wonder. Afflalo is definitely the team leader, but UCLA has to find a way to get Shipp more involved in the offensive flow. And with the addition of Kevin Love next year, there is so much potential for a great inside-outside offensive, along with staple Howland defense.
- I’m interesting in seeing Oden go against Florida’s bigs. I am still on the fence about whether or not he’s going to end up a star or a bust.
- Who’s going to match up with Brewer? I think OSU has a bit of an advantage in the backcourt with Conley and Lewis. Horford/Noah versus Noah could be a wash… But who’s going to account for Brewer?
Well, I’m no sports writer, but those are my thoughts entering the concluding game of this year’s tournament. I’m not happy about losing in the Final Four, but I’m glad to see UCLA as a basketball powerhouse again.
