Urban Art [permalink]

I found this on graffiti.org, and wanted to share it. While I understand this type of art has a very destructive side to it if channeled to other people’s property, I think it’s important to be able to step back and appreciate the talent and skill that goes into a piece like this.

“Arrested Development” - Season 2 [permalink]

If you haven’t seen this show, it is amazing. It starts a little bit slow because it takes a few episodes to build the premise, but once you get going, the show is hilarious. I have to admit that it is much better in DVD form than as a tv show, especially if you are a channel flipper, since stuff doesn’t make sense if you miss anything at all. Winner of numerous Emmys, SAGs, and a Golden Globe, it’s a shame that it only lasted 3 seasons (see awards list). I’m only up-to-date through season 2, but so far, the writing is incredible, the acting if flawless, and I can’t think of a better sitcom I’ve ever seen. Mitchell Hurwitz is a friggin’ genius.

“Friday Night Lights” [permalink]

I’m really into this show right now. It has almost everything I want in my photography - gritty, intense, passionate, messy, and weirdly beautiful. All the characters are completely twisted, with agendas that they don’t even know they have. Yeah, I know that it’s totally unrealistic, being high school kids and all, but I guess I find myself connecting to the disfunction and resilience of relationships that the show conveys.
